In furthering my hobby of tampering and remixing open source project logos KDE has been high on my list. Currently the project is working on it’s next-gen user interface called Plasma. They are doing some great work in adding new functionality and “finish” to the K desktop. I’ve been working on a design direction myself that varies from the current direction the project is going. One aspect of the direction I’ve been going is a simplification of the brand logo. Below is a trimmed version of the K logo. I haven’t added any treatment to it…it’s kinda nice just to stare at it bare…sweet simplicity…
